Spring Ahead With Color

Blog by Michele Buchamer | March 25th, 2010

Home decor should be forward-thinking, comfortable, personal and above all - fashionable - just like our clothing!
The big news for Spring 2010 - starting right now...color is back!
However the trick to making your home positively vibrant is to remember that as bold as you may want to go, you need to do it subtly. There's no doubt that color is the best antidote to all the wintery gray skies we have experienced over the last couple months. However balance out color with neutral tones to soften the look.

Here are a couple examples of how to be subtly bold with color this spring.

Use "purple", winter's hot fashion shade, in softened hues of lavender.
Let "navy blue" replace the black as a contrast color, looks great with white.
"Yellow" adds a sense of fun and sun and try contrasting it with a sharp gray or a soft orange.
"Greens" are everywhere this season capturing the seasons freshness and rebirth.
2010 is all about independence and how you feel in your own home. Color will help you portray your personal style and bring harmony to your home.
